A Union Pacific Railroad Mountain-type steam locomotive arrives with the first section of the eastbound "Pacific Limited" at North Platte, Nebraska. The station housed the famous North Platte Canteen where volunteers served more than six million members of the armed forces during World War II. The site is now the location of a Union Pacific Historical Marker and mini-park. |
